The Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) Prevention Decathlon programme is a set of structured education programme designed to help you avoid being diagnosed with CVD.
The Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Decathlon is a 10-week programme that includes holistic wellbeing information as well as physical activity sessions and can be delivered as a face-to-face or virtual offering.
You will attend weekly, and within your team, you will collaborate to discover how to best reduce their risks; through theory sessions, games, discussion as well as having a 45-minute physical activity session that includes a variety of sports.
Competing in your teams, you will be motivated to increase your activity levels in between sessions to win “Sweatcoins” which you can redeem in exchange for prizes. Sweatcoins are also ‘earnt’ by watching weekly recap videos and participating in quizzes.
For all current participants (Decathletes)
This is the main page you will access throughout your ten-week journey. The Weeks 1 to 10 links on the right-hand side of the page (or below if you are reading on a smartphone) will only be accessible once you have attended your session. Your group facilitator will give you with a password each week for you to nick the next set of information.
The weekly pages include weekly recap videos that cover the content you will have learnt, and a programme of physical activity videos for people of all fitness levels for you to do at your leisure. There will also be downloadable answer and worksheets associated to the programme on each week’s page.
